About Apartheid

Apartheid is the word for racial discrimination of people in South Africa. The Dutch and the British colonised South Africa but as they were dominating through political control and control over land and wealth, the Africans came back with racial discriminations.

Apartheid meaning a system of segregation on races of people. In Dutch meaning "outcast" was used in South Africa while also in other African countries.

One person to have led a struggle against apartheid was Nelson Mandela. He was later imprisoned for 27 years and after that was named the country's first black president.

How to take apart a PC

Different PCs have different techniques but first for all, you must take off the cover which is same for all of the PCs. There are 6 parts to a computer, there are the motherboard, power source, hard disk drive, the CPU, the RAM and the Microchip.

First, you have to unplug the wires that are connected to the power source and to unscrew the locks around the power source but don't then go unscrewing the power source unless you want to get electrified. You can now get the power source out of the computer.

The next step is to take the hard disk drive, in some computers there will be only one while others might have two so you push your hands hard on the lever things on the side of it to get it out.

Now to deal with the CPU and RAM, these two components with the hard drive, are the 3 most important hardware in your computer because every computer will need these three things to start otherwise it won't do a thing. You will need to press down on the 2 lever things like the hard disk drive.

The final two components are the microchip which saves all the data from that computer and the motherboard which is like the brain of the computer. To get the microchip, get the hook off of the piece, and open the cover to reveal your microchip and to get the motherboard, unscrew the leftover nails and take them out to get a loose motherboard. Once you've done that get out the motherboard and you know what, you've just finished.

A Pressing Issue-How ICT Affects Our Health

We can present in a powerpoint, a booklet and a graph to show our presentation.

Pros

- Help people who have family abroad.
- Meet more people.
- You can catch up with people who you haven't seen in a while.
- You can speak to someone anywhere in the world.
- You can learn much more from the Internet than a person who does not use a computer.
- In an average newspaper, there is more information than a person in the middle-ages would learn in a lifetime.
Costs
- People can get addicted to it and when they are addicted, they will use it after they have something important to do such as homework.
- People can waste valuable time.
- People get lethargic and get reluctant about leaving the house.
- People get no exercise.
- People become anti-social.
- There is a minimal amount of true information on the Internet.
- Laws are more easily broken over the Internet.
- It is often the cause of people neglecting their family and friends.
- If addicts play video games for a very long period of time consistently, they will think that fiction is reality.
- People do not respect other peoples privacy.
- People can lie about who they are and pretend to be someone there not.
- Over a vast period of time, people would lose their ability to interact with others without the use of ICT.
